The dynamic between privacy and voyeurism is put to the test in ‘Beyond Consent’ — an interactive hybride performative installation exploring the individual experience in relation to (personal) boundaries, sexuality, and (ethical) transgression. Through their work, R3LN4CHT questions the ‘safe space’ and proposes a ‘critical space’ in its stead.

Beyond Consent is a thought experiment made tangible, to be encountered viscerally — ‘If the answer is yes, keep asking’.

The first artistic explorations for Beyond Consent took place earlier this year at TextCAMPSITE Festival — TimeWindow, MOMO — Theater Rotterdam, and Freaky Dancing — Club WAS.

Now, Beyond Consent is transforming into a full fledged theatrical performance. At the upcoming edition of Over Het IJ Festival, R3LN4CHT will shape their secret cruising area — a performative space exploring the tension between fear and desire.
